150 athletes are taking part in Poland's Winter Games opened by the Polish First Lady

Poland’s First Lady Opens SO Poland’s Winter Games

As Patron of the event, First Lady of Poland, Anna Komorowska opened the VIII National Special Olympics Winter Games in Wisla – Kubalonka, Poland.

“I hope you achieve your results in a spirit of sportsmanship, friendship and nobility. It will be a beautiful time for you, a time you will always remember with fondness,” stated the First Lady in her address to the athletes at the opening ceremony held at the Amphitheater wiślańskim.

More than 150 athletes from across Poland will compete in five disciplines: Running on snowshoes; Cross Country Skiing, Ice Hockey, Speed Skating and Alpine Skiing.

41 athletes will qualify to represent Poland at the next Special Olympics World Winter Games in South Korea next year.
