Hi my name is Sarah Boyne. I live in Glasnevin in Dublin with my family and two cats.
I work 3 days per week with Aon Insurance and on the other 2 days, I go to a Training Centre in the Omni Centre, Santry in Ireland. My hobbies are drama, line dancing, listening to music, especially Country & Western and Westlife and following the Dubs! I love to visit my relations too.
I am a member of Special Olympics. I was a volunteer at the 2003 World Summer Games. My job was to lead the athletes out at Morton Stadium in Santry, Dublin. I played football at the 2010 Ireland Games in Limerick and I won 2 medals there.
I am taking part in the Athlete Leadership Program (ALPs). I have 2 awards already - Bronze and Silver. It went so well. Now I am working on my Gold Award with my mentor. I hope it goes well too.
I am the PR for the Northside 2Gether ALPs Group. We meet in St. Michael's House once a month.
Recently there was a bucket collection day for Special Olympics in Ireland. In the morning, my Dad gave me a lift to HSQ where my Mam works. All the Special Olympics people arrived there. We got t-shirts and bibs to put on. Then we set off to collect around the building from the 1st floor to the 6th floor! We had a break at 11.30am.
Then we went to Sandyford on an open-top bus. It was good fun. When we got there, there was music playing so we joined in singing and dancing. Then the DJ made us do a train back to the bus!
I had a really exciting day!
