Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation. Individuals or teams of competitors (from 2 to 6 people) manipulate one or two pieces of apparatus: rope, clubs, hoop, ball, ribbon and Free (no apparatus, so called "floor routine").

2014 Michigan State Summer Games

Join more than 2,600 Special Olympics athletes and 3,400 coaches, volunteers, chaperons, family members, volunteers and spectators at the 2014 Special Olympics Michigan State Summer Games. Opening Ceremonies are Thursday, May 29 with the Games running through Saturday, May 31. Ten types of competition are offered at the State Summer Games each year, including aquatics, athletics, bocce, bowling, gymnastics, horseshoes, powerlifting, weightlifting, volleyball, developmental athletics and motor activities training program. Athletes compete in State Summer Games after qualifying at local competitions throughout the year.

2014 Special Olympics Summer Games Invitational

Please join Special Olympics California as athletes compete in aquatics, athletics, basketball, bocce, golf, and gymnastics. The Games will be held June 6-8, 2014 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. Along with competitions, the Summer Games will feature free health screenings, a Young Athletes Demonstration, games, live music, and an athlete dance. 2014 Special Olympics Ireland Games

1,500 Special Olympics athletes from the 4 corners of Ireland will paricipate in 14 sports competitions that will inlcude aquatics, athletics, basketball, kayaking, gymnastics, MATP, football, golf, bocce, ptich n putt, bowling, table tennis, badminton and equestrian. Special Olympics National Games 2014 Melbourne

The 10th Special Olympics Australia National Games will involve more than 1,200 athletes of all levels competing in 16 Olympic and demonstration sports and events. These Games offer the opportunity for athletes to be selected to represent Australia at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles in 2015. For the majority of competitors, the National Games in Melbourne represents the culmination of four years of competing at local, regional and state level. Competing in the same world-class venues as their Olympic heroes, our Special Olympics athletes will perform in front of their proud parents, friends, supporters and the wider community. Athletes of all abilities will compete in 16 Olympic style sports including AFL and netball as demonstration sports across iconic sporting venues in Melbourne. Other special events include: Healthy Athletes Program, Young Athlete Program (2–7 year old), Athlete Leadership & Ambassador Program, Family Functions Social Outing, Law Enforcement Torch Run, Opening and Closing Ceremonies

World Summer Games Los Angeles 2015

In July of 2015 more than 7,000 athletes from 170 countries will come to Los Angeles, California for the Special Olympics World Summer Games and enjoy 10 days full of joy, friendship and competition. Athletes will compete in 22 sports. The event expects to attract 500,000 spectators and 30,000 volunteers and 3,000 coaches.
