Bolivia wil host the IV Panamerican Tenis Tournament from August 12 - 17 in Santa Cruz.

Bolivia will be the host

Santa Cruz, Bolivia- July 19th, 2013- The greatest Unified Tennis event of the year arrives in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. From the 12 to 17 of August, the IV Panamerican Tennis Tournament of Special Olympics will take place where more than 140 athletes with and without intellectual disabilities from 14 countries will compete showing their sports skills, and promote a message of inclusion, equality, and respect through sport.

 

The delegations from Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela, Rusia, and Bolivia will participate in an event of world-wide magnitude in Santa Cruz, Bolivia

 


The arrival of the delegations will be in August 12th to later give start the 13th with the Oppening Ceremony and preliminary matches. Then the competitions will be taking place from the 13th to the 16th, ending with a great closing ceremony to celebrate the competitive spirit of these true champions.

During the launching various personalities of the world of sport, government, and business were present in support of the event in which we could highlight Guillermo Saucedo, Departamental Service of Sports Director; Ramiro Cuadros, Manager of the Bolivian Federation of Tenis; Edmundo Rodríguez, General Secretary of the Southamerican Conferation of Tenis; Javier Urey, President of  Tenis Club Santa Cruz; Israel Sandoval, President of the Regional Congress of Leader Athletes of Special Olympics; Armando Gómez, Sports Coordinator of Special Olympics Latin America; Carmen Zamora, Executive Director of Special Olympics Bolivia and the representatives of promoting companies that support the great mission of Special Olympics.

This Tournament is sponsored by committed companies to the social inclusion of the person with intellectual disability like Banco Nacional de Bolivia, Red Uno, Editorial Día a Día, Hotel Buganvillas, just like Coca Cola, Toyosa, Alianza, Copa Airlines, Grupo Venado, Amaszonas, Joyerías Anahí, as well as contributing companies as SAE Bolivia, Gravetal, Interagro, Adagro, Destellos y Carlos Caballero SRL, D&M, which back the efforts of Special Olympics to promote the respect and the inclusion of the persons with intellectual disability to the society. Also, the Autonomous Government of Santa Cruz, the  Service of Sports, the Viceministry of Sports, the Bolivian Federation of Tennis, and the Tennis Club Santa Cruz have as well joined this important event.

A great labor

In Bolivia, Special Olympics made the great labor attending more than 5,800 athletes with 10 subprograms in the country. In this way Special Olympics Bolivia is changing the lives of many persons with intellectual disabilities through sport and other parallel programs
