Southwest Regional Winter Games

Join us January 21-25 in various locations across Missouri as our athletes showcase their skill in alpine skiing, snowshoeing, cross county skiing, figure skating and speed skating competition. Skiing, Snowshoeing and Cross County will be held at the Snow Creek Ski Area in Weston, Missouri. Figure skating and speed skating will be held at Bode Ice Area, St. Joseph, Missouri. Floor Hockey competition will be held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Sapp Field House. Come and cheer on our athletes and witness the power of sports. Hope to see you there!

Illinois Winter Games

What is Winter Games? Winter Games is one of 9 state sports competitions. It is the culminating competition for those participating in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Winter Games is hosted at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, Illinois. Approximately 400 athletes will compete in this 3-day event and show off their winning form! Sports competition runs from Tuesday, February 3, to Thursday, February 5. The public is invited and encouraged to attend any and all parts of Special Olympics Illinois Winter Games. The 2015 Special Olympics Michigan State Winter Games presented by Wertz Warriors will be February 3-6, 2015 in the greater Traverse City area. Alpine Skiing at Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire: Slalom, Giant Slalom, Downhill; Cross Country Skiing at Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire: 50M, 100M, 250M, 500M, 1K, 3K, 5K; Figure Skating at Howe Ice Arena in Traverse City: Compolsury and Freestyle; Snowboarding at Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire: Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super Giant Slalom; Snowshoeing at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme: 30M, 50M, 75M, 100M, 200M, 400M; Speed Skating at Howe Ice Arena in Traverse City: 25M, 30M, 50M, 100M, 300M, 500M, 800M. 2015 Special Olympics British Columbia Winter Games

Set be held in Kamloops February 19 to 21, the 2015 Special Olympics British Columbia Winter Games will feature 600 athletes from around the province going for gold in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, floor hockey, snowshoeing, and speed skating. SOBC athletes province-wide competed in Regional Qualifiers in 2014 to earn coveted spots in the 2015 Provincial Games. In Kamloops, athletes will compete for the chance to advance to the 2016 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, where the participants will seek to qualify for the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria. The curling, figure skating, and speed skating events will be hosted at McArthur Island Sports and Events Centre, and floor hockey events will be held in School District #73 schools. The alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing events will be hosted at Sun Peaks Resort. The Games will kick off with the Opening Ceremony on the evening of February 19 at the Tournament Capital Centre, where all the teams will get to march in proudly and be welcomed to Kamloops. The snowshoe events will include: 25 meter, 50 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1600 meter, 5 kilometer, 10 kilometer, 4 x 100 meter relay, 4 x 200 meter relay, 4 x 400 meter relay, 4 x 100 meter relay (Unified), 4 x 200 meter relay (Unified), 4 x 400 meter relay (Unified).
