Stephen Neill

Stephen Neill serves as Senior Vice President, Global Development and Government Relations. In this role, he works to leverage the global grassroots network of Special Olympics in over 170 countries to promote policies and partnerships with government, UN entities, aid agencies and INGOs that advance the rights and protections of people with intellectual disabilities and increase their access to community-based resources in sports, recreation, health, and education.

A longtime veteran of Special Olympics, Steve has been involved in a variety of initiatives beginning with the ’95 World Summer Games, initial efforts key to the Movement’s expansion in China and Special Olympics’ first major gift campaign. Outside of Special Olympics, he has managed numerous political campaigns, fundraising efforts and successful private-sector endeavors. Steve received his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the College of the Holy Cross and a Masters in public policy from Harvard University. A Washington, D.C. native, he lives in D.C. with his wife Nancy and their three children.
