Kirsten Suto Seckler
As the Chief Marketing Officer for Special Olympics (SOI), Seckler leads branding, marketing, and communications for the movement. In her role, she oversees a team that is working creatively to build awareness and understanding of the skills, gifts and talents of people with intellectual disabilities. Most recently, she led a comprehensive Special Olympics brand alignment effort to improve the coherence and effectiveness of the Special Olympics brand in more than 170 countries throughout the world where the movement operates.
Seckler has been with the Special Olympics movement for more than 16 years, starting with Special Olympics Wisconsin and joined SOI in 2000. She is a member of the Executive Leadership team and the Strategic Planning Steering Committee. Over her time with the movement she has been involved in many initiatives and the growth of Special Olympics around he world. That work includes more than nine World Games both Winter and Summer, film premiers, policy summits, concerts and conferences supporting Special Olympics, and the launch of new programming in the areas of health, education and community building. She is now leading the creation of the first-ever global marketing campaign for Special Olympics.
Seckler is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University for the Master of Professional Studies Sports Industry Management Program. Previous to joining Special Olympics, Seckler working in the marketing department at Kraft where she managed the experiential marketing tour of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Seckler also spent five years working as a print journalist. In 2009, Seckler was an honoree of the Washington Women in Public Relations Woman of the Year Award. She is a member of the National Press Club, the American Marketing Association and Association for Women in Sports Media. Seckler lives in Virginia with her husband and two children.
