Getting Healthier and Winning!

By Karl Hejlik

Matt is a Special Olympics athlete from California. He used to eat a lot of fast food and make other unhealthy choices, but one day he decided he needed to make a change. He started eating healthier foods and feeling better, stronger, faster. Then, he got his gold medal. During the UC Davis Norcal Championships, he ran in the 400 meter individual race and staged an amazing comeback to win the gold.

About Karl Hejlik: I am Senior Manager, Health and Research Communications for Special Olympics.
