By Story from Czech Republic

Michal Horvat, born November 10, 2000, is the youngest athlete in the Czech Republic delegation and will compete in Cross Country skiing. Michal started to ski when he was 7 years old. After first year of skiing he attended Special Olympics Czech Republic National Winter Games. He participated in the 50m and 100m of ski competition. The next year at the National Winter Games, he competed in the 500m and 1 km. Although he did not receive any medals, it did skew his efforts in training, if anything made him train harder. At the Special Olympics World Winter Games PyeongChang 2013, he will compete in the 1km and 3km and is hoping to win some medals!
