Capitol Hill Day

By Mary-Ellen Powers

I was very honored to represent Special Olympics Rhode Island at Capitol Hill Day this week! I had four successful meetings with our state's congressmen and senators. I spoke with them about the importance of acceptance and inclusion, and asked them to co-sponsor the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Act. It was a very fun experience!

About Mary-Ellen Powers: I am a Special Olympics RI athlete and global messenger. I am a co-host on "Special Olympics Rhode Island Magazine", a local television show made up of Special Olympics Rhode Island athletes.
