Booz Allen teams make twice the difference in Virginia Polar Plunges

By Katie Botha

Special Olympics Virginia President, Rick Jeffrey (far left) joins BAH Team Captain, Lee Buskey (holding check) just after BAH plunged into the Atlantic in early February.

Last month, Booz Allen Hamilton plungers from Virginia Beach continued their tradition of lining up to give Special Olympics Virginia athletes high-fives as they made their way to an icy dip in the Atlantic Ocean for the annual Polar Plunge event that raised more than $1.2M. This month, Booz Allen volunteers from Northern Virginia started their own icy tradition by participating in their first Polar Plunge event at Tim's Rivershore that resulted in more than $50,000 in proceeds for Special Olympics Virginia. Combined, the Booz Allen Teams contributed more than $25,000 and much needed volunteer support. We're grateful for their BRRR-ave assistance at these two events and throughout the year!
