Annlei Briggs, Share My Story

By Annlei Briggs, North Carolina State University, Junior

My name is Annlei Briggs, and this weekend was a totally new experience for me. I had never volunteered with Special Olympics North Carolina before, and this weekend was something that I will never forget. Seeing the smiles on the athletes’ faces has been a blessing. Saturday at Volleyball, the team I was with didn’t win a game, but that didn’t bother them. They were just happy to be playing; they kept giving me high 5’s and hugs. They were the sweetest people. Working with Special Olympics is definitely something that I want to do again.

About Annlei Briggs, North Carolina State University, Junior: I am a teaching fellow at NC State University.
