My Mother

By Gene Giuliani Jr

I would like to share my story on how I started with Special Olympics. I started 25 yrs ago in 1988. I was a little nervous but I had help from my mother. She was a volunteer with Delaware Special Olympics long before I got involved, and before I knew it, she helped me get started. So in 1988 was my first summer games and the rest is history, thanks to my dedicated mother, who takes time out of her busy schedule to take me to all my practices each and every week for the past 24 yrs, and she also comes to see me play and also watches my practices. If it wasn't for my mother, I would not be in Special Olympics today. THANKS MOM for your 25 yrs of dedication for my Special Olympics team and espically for me, and once again THANKS MOM!
