It's a Family Affair
When we said we are committed 100% to Special Olympics, we mean it.
This past year we organized several fundraisers for various events in our area and raised over $8,000.
My wife and I volunteered for several events to help coach, organize and do everything in between for our county aquatics team, Inspiration Walk, Softball fundraising and Polar Bear Plunge.
Of course we couldn't do this without our wonderful kids. Our 4 kids all took the plunge at the annual Special Olympics Maryland Polar Bear plunge into the Chesapeake.
During the Aquatics practices, events and Summer Games, all four swam and coached for the team and competed in the Unified events at the Summer Games.
All of them helped win the gold in 5 different relays and were there to cheer on the rest of the team throughout the competition.
All of the kids expect to be involved in either Best Buddies or clubs that sponsor/assist the Special Needs at their respective schools.
We look forward to the future with our new extended family.
Overly involved in many levels of life (mostly my kids of course) - Scouting, school, sports and mostly Special Olympics. Couldn't live life without them.
