In 1999 I was chosen to go to World Games in North Carolina as an Equestrian Competitor.
During practice we went over Western Riding Barrel Racing Pole Bending and trotting and learning how to do riding hard and learning how to use the reins properly and using my feet. I became a successful rider with our equestrian team in Coos County.
During the months of practice we would go to Portland to go to competitions which were very exciting for me to show my skills off to other riders.
I then was chosen for World Games and let me tell you the first day was exciting because I got to meet one of the former heavy weight champions from WWF.
I also got to spend some time with the President of Special Olympics and she was cool.
I took 2nd 3rd and 4th in my competitions so that was exciting and to meet people from all over the world and made a friend who had one arm and he was on the swim team which we got to see and that was awesome.
Special Olympics has helped me to be more confident and have fun.
