The event took place at the People Stadium where the National Director welcomed the board, coaches, athletes and unified partners and explained to them what EKS Day means to Special Olympics all over the world and the need to keep the message of Eunice Kennedy Shriver alive and to pay tribute to her legacy. After the welcome sports expert Brian Camille explained the schedule for the day. The games ended at 2pm with award presentations and followed with snacks and refreshments given to the athletes.
