They Teach Me - Interview with Olympic Gold Medal Winner Apolo Ohno

Apolo Anton Ohno is the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympian of all time. He retired in 2010 as a professional speed-skater and knows the feeling of winning a gold medal. During his career, he gained eight Olympic medals – two of them were golden. Some of the athletes at Special Olympics Winter World Games 2017 have already received a gold medal too. “I always loved Special Olympics," Apolo said. "It has the values that I share too. For me, it is a great and wonderful organization – I really understand the necessity of it. Special Olympics gives people with intellectual disabilities a chance to put themselves into society. I am so glad that I already had the chance to play with them. I want to spread the idea of the movement and want to help to make it more powerful.”
