Spreading the Special Olympics message of acceptance and inclusion remains one of our movement's core objectives. The World Winter Games offered the ideal platform to educate media from around the world about our mission. And the media did not disappoint with huge numbers attending the Games and sending reports back to every corner of the globe! Some 600 journalists from more than 70 countries descended on Austria. Included in the media ranks was a team of 14 Young Reporters from the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). Guided by a team of AIPS mentors, and supported by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme, these journalists delivered a series of superb reports focusing on every area of the World Winter Games. Summing up the experience, one AIPS reporter said: 'These are stories that deserved to be told.' Also present at the Games was sports broadcast giant Eurosport who produced a dedicated news package which was broadcast in 71 countries and reached 154 million homes.
