Kenneth Mokabo

Casa Da Sol, a special school for individuals with special needs, believes in exposing pupils to a variety of activities.

At an early age Kenneth Mokabo worked with his mother at Hugo Stores and a Doggy Parlor. He showed initiative, and he showed kindness to animals. In 2013 he was chosen as one of four athletes from Special Olympics South Africa to compete in figure skating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in the Republic of Korea.

Special Olympics South Africa gave him a chance he had never imagined, to travel out of the country. In 2016 he was the first athlete from South Africa to compete in level 2 figure skating .He had learnt to skate with perseverance, ease and confidence.

His amazing spirit is quiet and humble. His initiative in helping teachers and staff included duties which were not expected.

This year Kenneth Mokabo was one of the athletes who returned back victorious with a Bronze medal for his amazing performance from the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria.

His mom is very proud of him and sees a bright future ahead for him.
