We would like to thank St. Stithians for hosting us and allowing to use their school facilities, as well as providing us with medics for the event.Thank you to the St. Stithians grade sevens for dedicating their time to come out to this auspicious event to cheer our Young Athletes. Lastly thank you to all the moms, who came through to show love, care and support to our Special Olympics SA Young Athletes

Special Olympics Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking and throwing. It offers families, teachers, caregivers and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports. Young Athletes of all abilities take part, and they all benefit.

Our athletes are coached on how to play with others and develop important skills for learning. Young Athletes is a fun way for our athletes to get fit.

It is important to teach them healthy habits while they are young. This can set the stage for a life of physical activity, friendships and learning. Special Olympics South Africa in partnership with Sunshine centre for children craighall recently held Young Athletes Teddy Bear picnic.

This picnic gave our female ambassadors, Ginnie Patricia Mc Lellan, Letshego Zulu, Lil Red, Linda Rubin and special guest Leanne Dlamini an opportunity to relax and embrace the beauty of our young athletes in action.
