My Ability is Stronger Than My Disability

She looks back to the time she started participating in Special Olympics she has grown as a person in so many ways. Lastly she said that “I encourage everybody to support Special Olympics South Africa”.

Keamogetse Kasingezi got involved with Special Olympics South Africa in 2000, when she started school at Boitumelo Special School. Keamogetse expressed how grateful she is to be under the leadership of her teacher and coach Ms. Joyce Monyera. She is also expressed her excitement about being a part of the organisation as it has played a very huge role in her life.

She also got an opportunity to participate in different sports such as: athletics, netball, and basketball as well as floor hockey. Keamogetse said that “my proudest and memorable moment was, when I was selected to represent Special Olympics South Africa Northern Cape at the 2014 Special Olympics National Summer Games in Howick, KZN.

Keamogetse, won 2 gold and 1 silver medals in athletics for the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay”. She expressed that she appreciates what Special Olympics South Africa has done for her as an individual.
