‘Together We Walk’ for Social Inclusion in Korea

On June 24 2017, Special Olympics Korea successfully hosted its walkathon event ‘Together We Walk’ in Daejeon.

Around 3,000 unified participants enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, both people with and without intellectual disabilities were given a chance to play unified. Many participants said that it was great to know each other and this kind of event should take place more frequently.

Since its launch in 2013, the walkathon has made a huge contribution to promote social inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities. It has been held annually, rotating around different cities to raise the awareness across the nation. More and more people started to know about Special Olympics, and are getting more involved with Special Olympics movement.

Just like the slogan, ‘Together We Walk’.
