Belgium Soccer Star signs as Special Olympics Ambassador

Simon Mignolet is a Belgian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Liverpool and the Belgium national team.

Simon Mignolet, goal keeper for the UK Premier League club Liverpool FC and the Belgium National Team has signed up as an Ambassador to Special Olympics in Belgium. As a Special Olympics Ambassador in Belgium, Mignolet is charged with promoting greater inclusion and respect for athletes with intellectual disabilities in the game of football. Mignolet said he was very pleased to become a Special Olympics Ambassador. Football is the largest sport in Special Olympics with more than 435,000 athletes worldwide. Mignot joins a league of football stars who support Special Olympics including FC Barcelona Dani Alves and Brazilian football legends Zico and Romario.
