Maybe you can't imagine anything better than watching people shoot rifles while cross-country skiing or hurtle down a frozen track at up to 90 miles an hour, but nationally-syndicated writer Michael Gerson says there is something better than the Winter Olympics in Sochi, and it's Special Olympics in Malawi. His blog on the website of the leading international advocacy organization for ending extreme poverty and preventable disease, ONE.org, captures both obstacles and optimism around ending stigma and exclusion from health, education, and other social services for people with intellectual disabilities.
