Challenging the Tyranny of Intellectual Disability

As Special Olympics ramps up for February's African Leaders Forum on Disability in Malawi, David Evangelista from Special Olympics and Siddharth Chatterjee from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies published an article in the Huffington Post that highlights the need for action to ensure inclusive global development. The article reports that through the Forum, President Joyce Banda of the Republic of Malawi and Special Olympics are establishing a coalition to advance the human rights of Africans with disabilities, in particular intellectual disabilities.
