The goal was to create and celebrate opportunities in tennis for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Tennis Europe has been a key supporter. Special Olympics clubs from 9 countries in Europe Eurasia were there to showcase the skills of athletes by hosting public demonstration matches and other activities. Unified Tennis events also gave tennis players with and without intellectual disabilities the opportunity to compete together and enjoy the benefits of friendship on and off the court. Participants in Europe Tennis Day 2014 cluded athletes from Austria, Finland, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Luxembourg, Romania and Turkey.
