Irene Osorio, sister of a person with intellectual disabilities.

By Irene Osorio

My brother Pedro Osorio was born with Down syndrome. As sister, I am  proud to see the accomplishments he has achieved. If anything I can admire in him is consistency, tenacity, dedication and feeling put into each one of the things he does, from the simplest. I learned a lot from him and through him, to share experiences with other families, taking courses, etc.. The sometimes see people who ask for a picture, which they accept as it is, is a feeling that can not be expressed in words.

About Irene Osorio: I am a Special Olympics Volunteer. I have a brother with Down syndrome who is a pride for me and my family.
