Israel and Malta - A United Family!

By Ora Rev

Thanks to Tali Kornhauser (Israel) and Marisa Gruppetta and Anna Calleja from Malta for making this trip such a wonderful experience.

61 Israeli Special Olympics families and athletes were united and hosted by Maltese Special Olympic families. The Maltese Special Olympics Community were so warm, generous and hospitable. They could not do enough for the Israeli delegation. On the Saturday night, we enjoyed a wonderful party hosted by the Maltese families, around 120 people arrived, the delicious food, music and ambiance was so uplifting and fun. The joy and genuine warm welcome throughout the party were enormous, pulling us all together into a circle of dance The kids all mingled and friends were made. We are all ONE family. Sunday, Elaine, the head coach director organized a bowling tournament in saint Julian, parents came with their athletes and EVERYONE had such a wonderful time playing and the enthusiasm and professionalism was AWESOME! What a very emotional and uplifting 4 days we have just experienced. Overflowing with love, embracement, support, courage, acceptance, positive tension, warmth, caring and much much more!

About Ora Rev: I am a mother of a Special Olympics Israeli athlete.
