Israel is ready for a winter of Floorball

By Maureen Rabbitt

Special Olympics Israel is committed to providing the most professional floorball training to their coaches and athletes.

Thanks to the support of the International Floorball Federation, Israel is all geared up to begin training in Special Olympics’ newest winter sport. SO Israel held professional training on October 16th, with coaches representing various teams. The theoretical aspect of the training was imparted by the Chairman of the Floorball Association in Israel, Mr. Yevgeni Mogilevski, where coaches learned about the rules of the game and equipment. The practical training was conducted by the Israel Team coach, Mr. Vitali, who worked with 13 athletes from the "Etgar Hostel" and "Katan Aleinu" School to demonstrate various training exercises. The day ended with a game between the coaches where they had the opportunity to fully experience the game and put into practice all they had learned. SO Israel has appointed Yevgeni Mogilevski as Floorball Coordinator and is confident that the sport will be very popular among male and female athletes. 25 programs around the World now offer Floorball.
