Kimberly Gann, Share My Story

By Kimberly Gann, North Carolina State University, Junior

Hi, my name is Kimberly Gann and I am a junior at NC State University. I volunteered for 4 years in high school with my local Special Olympics program , but this was my first time volunteering with the state-level Summer Games. Helping out here makes me feel like I am home again, and I have really enjoyed my experience. I have so many memories from this weekend. My favorite part has been helping athletes get to the pool and cheering them on. Seeing them come out of the pool smiling whether they won a medal or just completed a race has been the best part of this weekend
