Courtney LeLay and her baby son Kobey added some glitters to the bocce competition.
At the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games, one of the venues to be was the bocce greens with plenty of spectators cheering on the athletes throughout the week. As the third most participated sport at the Games, the bocce competition was festival of multicultural colour as athletes from nations across the Asia Pacific gathered to compete.
Courtney LeLay had travelled down from Brisbane with her baby son Kobey to support Brisbane East athlete Meagan LeLay. They were decked out in their green and gold bling to cheer on the Aussies!
For Australian, Doug Beattie from NSW, the team’s oldest athlete at 61, the competition provided a rare opportunity to compete against people from other nations and his partner Clark Hampton from Queensland welcomed them to Australia.
‘It’s great to see other countries here in Australia from all different parts of the world. It’s great to meet people. I have been welcoming them all.’
