President of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador Handed the "National Pavilion" to Special Olympics athletes

San Salvador, July 30, 2013: This morning, the President of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador, Eduardo Palomo handed a national flag to the Special Olympics tennis team who will participate in the 4th Special Olympics Pan American Tennis Tournament to be held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The handover took place at the Hotel Crowne Plaza. Athletes Mauricio Peñate, Zaira Sanchez, Bryan Godoy received the flag with their coach Roberto Salazar, and charged with carrying a message of equality, acceptance and respect through their sports skills during the 4th Pan American Tennis tournament. This tournament is conducted as part of the Project launched in 2006 for the development of tennis between Special Olympics Latin America and COTECC Cosatu, called "Tennis for Us All" It has great support by government departments and companies in Bolivia that share the same idea of using sports as a means of social development for people with intellectual disabilities and for the community. Mr. Palomo, had words of praise for Special Olympics athletes and invited them to continue to develop on the sports field or other fields that are of interest to them; and agrees competitive skills and practices developed through sports may also be applied in other areas. The President of the program Uceda Ms. Sandra took delivery of a certificate of appreciation and a shirt designed for the event. She thanked Mr. Palomo for the support of the Special Olympics movement in El Salvador from 2007 to date.
