Romanian National Games Demonstrate ABILITY

By Katarina Kiss

Young Romanian athletes celebrate their victories.

100 athletes have just competed in Special Olympics Romania National Games which took place in Buzăn from March 18 - 19. The athletes competed in gymnastics, track, badminton and bocce. The Games also include a demo of wheelchair basketball in an effort to promote wheelchair sports. Thanks to Reach all athletes underwent a test for their blood glucose levels and received education on living a healthy lifestyle and diet. The Games were supported by a wonderful team of young volunteers from the National University for Physical Education and Sport and the Buzăn Technical College. Special Olympics Romania partnered with the Romanian Olympic Academy and Buzăn local authorities to host the Games.
