Special Olympics Dusseldorf 2014

This spring, 4,800 athletes will participate at the next National Summer Games from Special Olympics Germany in Dusseldorf from May, 19th to May 23rd, 2014, according to the motto „Gemeinsam stark – Together strong“. With coaches, caregivers, family members, more than 2,000 volunteers and daily participants more than 14,000 people will be involved in the National Games. The athletes will start in 18 sports disciplines: badminton, basketball, bocce, bowling, beach volleyball, football (soccer), golf, handball, judo, kayaking, powerlifting, athletics, cycling, equestrian/vaulting, roller skating, swimming, tennis and table tennis. Additionally 254 people without disabilities will follow the motto “Gemeinsam stark” and will participate in 13 Unified sports disciplines. As the 19th sports discipline the Motor Activity Training Program (MATP) is open to all visitors.
