Special Olympics Hellas runners join Athens Half Marathon

Two hundred and twenty Special Olympics Hellas (Greece) athletes participated in the 1000 m Special Race within the framework of the Athens Half Marathon 2014 held on 4 May 2014. The half marathon, with 14,000 runners from Greece and worldwide, was organized by the Municipality of Athens and the Hellenic Athletics Federation. A hugely popular event, the half marathon attracted spectators and media alike. The Special Race winners were Special Olympics Athletes Yiannis Daskalakis and Vasiliki Katsoudi who proudly received their medals from the Mayor of Athens at the Awards Presentation area in Constitution Square.
