Special Olympics Romania Makes All-Court Effort

Twelve enthusiastic Special Olympics tennis players proved to be aces during a tournament held in Teccuci, Romania. Held on 16 June 2014 as part of the first Special Olympics European Tennis Day, the event proved to be a fun day for participants who came from local placement centers. Professor Cicerone Rugina, who is passionate about tennis, organized the tournament at special school "Constantin Paunescu" where he teaches. A stickler for rules, Rugina kept his eye on the baseline and did not hesitate to fault players when they put a foot wrong. They learned and excelled from his instruction.
