The Zimbabwe Golf Association announced the launch of a new awards ceremony at the Royal Harare in February. These awards are expected to run for years to come and are part of an initiative to promote the game in the country. Among the categories announced for this year’s prestigious event were Special Olympics female golfer of the year and Special Olympics male golfer of the year Commissioner of Sports General Director, Mr. Charles Nhemachena said, “The awards’ pivotal role is to inspire athletes to excel, those who excel must be recognized.” We look forward to congratulating the first Special Olympics recipients of these awards.
