Volleyball Legends Support Special Olympics

By Scott Buss

Karch Kiraly, Tom Hoff, and Rafer Johnson are surrounded by Special Olympics Orange County Athletes.

Olympic gold medalists Karch Kiraly and Tom Hoff attended a recent fundraiser for Southern California Special Olympics. Both are long time supporters of the movement and have contributed to the growth of the sport around the world for our Athletes. You can see Karch in the video demonstrating volleyball skills on this site and Tom has attended the US National Games in 2010 and Summer World Games in 2011. The annual event raised over $300,000 for Special Olympics Orange County. Past attendees at this event include Misty May-Treanor, Butch May, Dain Blanton, Paula Weishoff, Liz Masakayan, Elaine Youngs, and Debbie Green. I know the Southern California volleyball community is excited for the Summer World Games to come to LA in 2015 where indoor volleyball will be held at UCLA and beach volleyball will be in Long Beach.
