Registration begins at 10 AM and the plunge will take place at 12 PM. Participants raise funds to run (Plunge) into the chilly waters of Connecticut. Your participation provides funding to support over 14,000 athletes who participate in Special Olympics Connecticut’s year-round training and competition in 27 sports. Costumes are encouraged – we even give an award for the best costumes! Many Penguins form teams to band together and share in this one-of-a-kind experience.

Skating Championships

What is the Skating Championships? The Skating Championships are one of 9 state sports competitions. It is the culminating competition for those participating in figure skating and speed skating. The Skating Championships are hosted at Canlan Ice Sports in Romeoville, Illinois. Special Olympics Illinois will be holding this event in a new venue this year with the goal of increasing participation. Canlan Ice Sports is an amazing facility and will hopefully be more accessible and less costly for agencies and families attending the event.
