[Turin, Italy - 14 March 2025] Toyota Motor Europe, Presenting Sponsor and Mobility Partner of World Winter Games Turin 2025, congratulates all Special Olympics athletes on their determination and sportsmanship.
"We are humbled and honored to support the Special Olympics movement, which perfectly aligns with our 'Let's Go Beyond' philosophy,” said Monica Perez Lobo, Vice President Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Toyota Motors Europe. “At Toyota, we believe in driving positive change by pushing boundaries and recognize that every long journey progresses with each small step. Sports have always been part of Toyota’s heritage from the very beginning. Special Olympics is a great partner to create inclusivity through sports. Special Olympics World Winter Games are an incredible opportunity to witness the determination and efforts of each athlete unleashing their potential and proving that everyone, regardless of ability, can succeed. Supporting the athletes and the games organization has been immensely rewarding for all Toyota employees. This year, we were proud to provide Recovery Lounges and contribute 70 volunteers, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive sports and people with disabilities.”
“The partnership between Toyota and Special Olympics accelerates both of our missions. The fleet of vehicles Toyota provided for the Turin Games, along with incredible team of volunteers and the Athlete Recovery Lounges, serve as a model for how two organizations can come together to deliver impact greater than the sum of their parts.”
Partnership with Special Olympics World Winter Games is a demonstration of Toyota’s unwavering commitment to inclusion and Mobility for All.
Toyota provided 140 zero- or low-emission vehicles ensuring sustainable transportation for athletes and guests to the Games venues throughout the Piemonte Region of Italy: Turin, Sestriere, Bardoneccia, and Pragelato.
Seventy Toyota employees volunteered to support Floorball in Turin and Snowshoeing and Alpine Skiing in Sestriere. Their dedication and enthusiasm show how the company embraces inclusive mindsets from within.
Toyota also provided three Athlete Recovery Lounges in Turin and Sestriere, dedicated space for athletes to rest, recuperate, and receive various forms of therapy. These areas are equipped with facilities and services to help athletes recover from their physical exertions and prepare for their next events.
Based on its belief that the power of sport leads to the creation of a society where people respect one another, Toyota’s support for Special Olympics dates back to 2018 and includes supply of fleet vehicles and volunteers at World Games Berlin 2023 and national Special Olympics games throughout Europe and around the world.
