More Iconic Landmarks “Light Up Red” for Inclusion

Light Up Red
More landmarks around the world set to “Light Up Red” for Inclusion in July.

On July 20, 2018, Special Olympics kicked off the “The Revolution Is Inclusion,” a five-year campaign to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the organization, inspire action and shine a spotlight on the positive outcomes that are seen when people with and without intellectual disabilities (ID) are able to work, play and lead in life together. To mark this major milestone, Special Olympics asked cities all over the globe to “Light Up Red” for inclusion, with the goal of bringing urgency and awareness to the need for inclusion for all people with intellectual disabilities, in every corner of the world. From Sydney to London and from Niagara Falls to Abu Dhabi, more than 225 landmarks across the world Lit Up Red for Inclusion!

As Special Olympics closes out the movement’s year-long 50th anniversary celebration throughout the month of July, more iconic landmarks around the world are joining the organization to “Light Up Red” for inclusion. Romania’s Triumphal Arc in Bucharest and Mexico’s Palacio de Bellas Artes are just a few of the many landmarks that will “Light Up Red” to celebrate the transformative impact of the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
