Mike has served as the Senior Advisor for Special Olympics Pennsylvania since 2014. His focus includes work in co-leading the development of Unified Champion Schools programming and Unified Sports throughout the state; fundraising; and strategic partnerships.
For more than 30 years, Mike have been involved with the Special Olympics movement with state programs and SOI. The most rewarding experiences for him have been the various roles he’s played in the development and growth of Unified Sports throughout the world since its inception in 1989. This includes conducting international trainings for Unified Sports in five regions around the world and in more than 20 states in the United States; leading the creation of Unified Sports statewide initiatives in three programs (Pennsylvania – 230 schools; Maryland – 155 schools; District of Columbia – year-round adult program for four sports); and contributing to the creation of Unified Sports training materials and resources. Additionally, Mike serves as a member of the Global Unified Sports Advisory Group and the USLC Unified Sports Committee.
