How do you define your abilities?

I’ve been swimming for 14 years and I'm a great swimmer. My preferred style is butterfly. My other passion is music. I've been a drummer for years and together with my brother Gabriel, we have a band called Punto Zero. I studied to be an Environmental Teacher in college and I’m continuing my education with courses, because I love nature.

What should coaches know about working with individuals with autism?

Coaches need to know that we are sensitive, smart people, that require patience and kindness and clear and precise communication, because sometimes noises are triggering for us.

What stereotypes or misunderstandings about autism most frustrate you?

People need to understand that we are not aggressive, and if sometimes we isolate ourselves and find it hard to communicate, it's not because we are being mean or rude, but because it is hard for us.

What do you most want people to understand about autism?

That we need friends and family, like everyone else. And like everyone else, we are also unique and have rights. Please don't forget that, and help us respect and defend those rights.
