Special Olympics Spain athlete Eduardo Vegas proved to be one of the stars of the recent Johan Cruyff Golf Memorial Tournament at Montanyá Golf Club in early June.

The tournament honoured the late Johan Cruyff and raised funds for Johan’s Foundation. Eduardo who is 39 and from Madrid, certainly got the interest of the public as a large crowd followed his group and cheered him on.

Eduardo has been a Special Olympics golfer for a number of years. He represented Special Olympics Spain at the 2011 World Games in Athens where he won a gold medal for golf and has won several tournaments since.

Susila Cruyff, Johan’s daughter, presented Eduardo with a gift to thank him on behalf of Johann’s Foundation for his participation at the end.

Eduardo said that he was delighted to represent Special Olympics and show his golfing skills to so many famous people and the media including former Barcelona star and current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and current Everton manager Ronald Koemen.
