On this exciting Season 7 premiere of Inclusion Revolution Radio, sponsored by Toyota, host Novie Craven welcomes listeners from the studios of Podville Media. Inclusion Revolution Radio’s Podcast Production Host, Podville Media is a leading podcast production studio in Washington, D.C., and has partnered with Special Olympics to amplify the mission of inclusion on air.
For the season premiere, Tyrone Pillay, South African Paralympic athlete and Toyota Motor Europe employee, joins to share how inclusive and adaptive sports have shaped his life. Tyrone represented South Africa in shot put at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, where he won a bronze medal. However, Tyrone's impact extends far beyond his athletic achievements. He is an advocate for inclusion in sports, a strong supporter of Special Olympics and now works with Toyota to drive accessibility and opportunity for athletes of all abilities. Attending the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, Tyrone assisted Toyota in its role as the Presenting Sponsor and Mobility Partner, helping to ensure the success of the Games.
Toyota's partnership with the Special Olympics World Winter Games demonstrates its dedication to inclusion and Mobility for All. The company provided 140 zero- or low-emission vehicles for transportation and had 70 employees volunteer to support sport venues, like floorball, snowshoeing and alpine skiing. Toyota also provided three Athlete Recovery Lounges in Turin and Sestriere, offering essential rest and therapy services for athletes.
Driven by the belief that sport has the power to foster a society of mutual respect, Toyota has been supporting Special Olympics since 2018. This support includes providing fleet vehicles and volunteers for events such as the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, as well as national Special Olympics competitions across Europe and globally.
