On Tuesday, July 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET, Special Olympics will premiere an exclusive interview with Special Olympics Global Ambassador and U.S. Olympian Michael Phelps and his wife Nicole, hosted by Special Olympics Chairman Tim Shriver. Their conversation showcases Special Olympics’ partnership with the Michael Phelps Foundation, which prioritizes the topics of water safety and mental health awareness.
This initiative was the result of exceptional collaboration between multiple teams, Special Olympics International, Special Olympics North America, Special Olympics Arizona and Special Olympics’ longstanding partnership with the Michael Phelps Foundation.
Phelps and the Michael Phelps Foundation have been active with Special Olympics since 2007; their “IM Program” is a foundational piece for Special Olympics’ swimming program and has trained athletes and coaches in more than 35 countries through a lineup of water safety instruction, recreational aquatic activities, health and wellness coaching, and goal-setting education.
