First Day of Competition Highlights

The first day of competition, 15 March, at the 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi kicked off with a number of notable firsts. The first gold medal was earned by Special Olympics Cuba’s, Yaritza Parrado Fernandez. The Saudi women made their first appearance at World Games and won their first two matches on the Bocce field of play. What a wonderful way to start the first World Games held in the Middle East/North Africa region.
