2019 World Games athletes have already begun to arrive in Abu Dhabi. Among the first to arrive were the New Zealand competitors, coaches, heads of delegation and support staff. They landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 5 March.
Etihad Airways staff greeted them along with Peter Wheeler, the CEO of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, traditional haka dancers and the official mascots of the games—Faris and Rabdan.
Over 7,500 athletes from over 190 countries will compete in this year’s games. Follow the action at specialolympics.org and abudhabi2019.org.
