Special Olympics Palestine organized a training camp in different sports including athletics, bocce, five-a-side football and table tennis with the participation of seven sub programs.
On the sidelines of the camp, and in an effort to provide more health opportunities to the athletes, volunteer health professionals measured blood pressure, pulse and heart rate before, during and after physical activity to make sure that the athletes are in good shape and health.
The main objective of the training camp was to improve the fitness levels, skills and the performance of the athletes, engage more athletes and prepare them to participate and compete in the 2018 Special Olympics MENA Regional Games and 2019 World Summer Games. Both will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
"We are very excited and thrilled that the World Games is coming to our region for the first time in history. That’s why we need to be fully and well prepared," said Marwan Weshahi, National Director of Special Olympics Palestine.
