Dowon Kim is an athlete from Special Olympics Korea in the East Asia Region. Dowon participates in golf and volleyball. He has been involved in Special Olympics since 2018.
Dowon’s favorite parts about Special Olympics are having delightful times and that he can volunteer.
Dowon is excited for the congress in Berlin. He is looking forward to attending new leadership training, interacting with new people, and playing new sports he’s never tried before.
When Dowon isn’t competing, he enjoys listening to music, doing computer work, watching YouTube videos, and investigating various cars. He also enjoys playing guitar and driving a car.
Dowon says that being an athlete leader means taking a true leadership role by being considerate and helping others.
Project Description
Dowon’s grant plan is to help Special Olympics Korea staff train the next National Athlete Input Council (NAIC) members to be leaders. He will be presenting what he has done in the last 2 years as an athlete leader to motivate new NAIC members. Drawing on the training and experience of the present leaders, the NAIC will have a smooth transition to new leadership.
